| 内容記述 | 酵母の性接合は, 細胞と細胞の相互作用・細胞認識の研究における一つの貴重なモデルとなっている。とりわけ, 窒素飢餓や発酵性糖の低下がひきがねとなり栄養成長している細胞から性フェロモンが分泌され, 生殖細胞に分化していく一連のシグナル伝達機構には, Gタンパク質やcAMPなどが関与していることが分かり, 高等真核生物の成長や分化との遺伝学的, 生理・生化学的共通点が見いだされた。これらのことは1980年代末までに出芽酵母により明らかにされてきたことである。一方, 分裂酵母S.pombeにおける性行動の研究はそれよりかなり遅れていた。一昨年, h^-(M)型細胞の性フェロモン, M^-ファクターが単離精製され, 出芽酵母と同様リポペプチドであることが示された。本文では, 分裂酵母S.pombeヘテロタリック株についての我々の性的凝集誘導の生理・形態学的研究を紹介しつつ分裂酵母の性研究の現状を展望する。 | |||||

| 内容記述 | The mating reaction in yeast is an important model system for studing cell-cell interaction. Yeast pheromone-mediated signal transduction is extensively investigated, because it may share some commomn features with the pathways mediated by growth and differentiation factors in higher eukaryotes. Especially, the budding yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae has extensively studied by using a combination of genetic, molecular, and biochemical approaches ; it was suggested that each of the haploid mating types expresses a set of proteins specific to that mating type, including the sexual agglutinins, peptide pheromones, and pheromone receptors. The fission yeast Schizosaccharomyces pombe have two mating-types, h^- (M) and h^+ (p). Studies on the mating substances of S. pombe , however, have started later than those of budding yeasts. The mating pheromone, M-factor, of M cells has only recently been isolated and purified. In this text, the sexual behaviour of S. pombe will be reviewed, including our results. | |||||
