| 内容記述 | Using the Warburg manometer, the author investigated the effect of metallic ions on oxygen uptake of activated sludge and calculated the values of TC_<50>(toxic concentration 50,the concentration of toxic substance required to obtain 50% inhibition of the oxygen uptake of unintoxicated sludge). The obtained results were as follows. 1) The toxicity was decreased with the following sequence in the unit of ppm. Cu^<2+>, Ag^+, Hg^<2+>, Ni^<2+>, Cd^<2+>, Zn^<2+>, Co^<2+>, Cr^<3+>. Cr^<6+> and Pb^<2+>. 2) The detoxication effect by EDTA was observed with Cu^<2+>, Ni^<2+>, Zn^<2+>, pb^<2+>, Cd^<2+> and Hg^<2+>. But for Ag^+ and Co^<2+>, it was small and for Cr^<3+> and Cr^<6+>, the effect was negligible. | |||||
